Reset Foreign Policy
In the wake of deteriorating relations with countries like China and Nepal,India needs to switch its existing foreign policy.
China's aggressive expansionist policies resulted in confrontation at LAC that caused casualties ultimately.Post 1962, this is for the first time that such escalations have been seen while dialogue is underway. This is clear indication of China's frustration born out of economic doldrums and plummeting growth rate amid COVID-19.China is trying its best to terrorise its adversaries through military adventurism so that its hegemony on global economy continues.
China has always backstabbed and repeated the same this time again.Despite being the biggest market for Chinese products, they have killed our soldiers that too with spiked iron rods as per media reports. This is not acceptable and befitting reply must be given to the aggressor.
Apart from LAC,Chinese engaged in waging proxy war with the help of Nepal. They provoked Nepal to claim Indian territories like Kalapani,Lipulekh.Nepal also amended their map and shown these territories as theirs by passing an act in Parliament.Historically, these areas have been in India's control. All this happened just because of China's provocation.
India and Nepal have shared a strong cultural and blood relations. The country is the only Hindu rashtra in the world.A number of Indian devotees visit Pashupatinath Temple,a famous Shiva shrine.Thousands of Nepalese are serving in Indian army. Both the countries facilitate visa free travel for each other.Nepal is a landlocked country and Indo-Nepal border is the only trade route for this country.
When Nepal suffered massive earthquake a few years back.It was India that launched relief and rescue operations for the affected people.
It's very disheartening that Nepal emerged a tricky mistress and sat in the lap of China. This small country fell victim to China's debt trap diplomacy like Sri Lanka.
The only solution to all these problems is to check control of China. If China can maintain good relations with Africa, why can't we with Vietnam,Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia and other countries that share water disputes with China in South China sea.
If India succeeds in restricting China's expansionist measures, then automatically our relations with neighbours will get better and South East Asia will be with us.
In today's time, when it comes to foreign policy, there is no place for idealism that used to be the policy of Nehruvian India.Realist policies are the need of the hour and almost all countries stick to it.China created its empire with this policy too.China totally defied UNCLOS and the verdict of Permanent Court of Arbitration in the matters of SCS waters because of its clout in the South China Sea area.
Balance of power is very crucial to stop this dragon and to accomplish this task India must take help of other countries of Quad, namely, America,Japan,South Korea and Australia too.India share a very friendly relations with Israel. This nation is very brainy and technically advanced.Israel too can be a promising partner in long run to combat this Chinese monster.
The only way ahead is to stop China's economic growth and military mobilisation.Otherwise,it will keep flexing its muscles.
